Welcome to Women in Media-Baton Rouge!
If you are a guest, we appreciate you stopping by to learn more about Women in Media. Women in Media is a professional women’s organization with membership consisting of a diverse group of women in all facets of Baton Rouge media business including Radio, Television, Marketing, Public Relations and Promotions. Our greatest asset is the effectiveness of organizational networking. The organization holds an annual Awards of Excellence luncheon, which honors our professional peers, and endows a $1,000 scholarship annually to a senior in college studying in the field of Journalism/Mass Communication, Theater, or a related media field. Our luncheon meetings take place on the third Wednesday of every month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Juban's Restaurant, and cover everything from business etiquette to marketing success stories. We invite you to learn more about our organization by visiting the About Us page. If you are interested in joining, you can complete a membership application from our Home page, and our Membership Chairperson will be in touch very soon on your next steps to joining WIM.
If you are already a member, we want to thank you for your continued support of Women in Media. Your dues allow Women in Media to continue energetic monthly luncheons, exclusive social events, service projects, production of an elite awards banquet - Awards of Excellence (AOE), and our annual $1,000 Jean Wheeler Scholarship to a deserving female student pursuing a career in the media industry.
We are off to a great start for the new term, and have an exciting rest of the year in store! Here’s a preview of programming for the next few months: September 16th - Dietitian and Community Relations Panel from Pennington Biomedical Research Center, November 18th - "The Positive Coach" Melinda Stallings, and December 16th - WIM's Annual Christmas Social.
Let us know if you have any suggestions. We'd love to hear from you!
